At the International Foundation for Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC), we believe that sustainable change in global health is only possible through strong, long-term partnerships. One powerful example of this commitment is our collaboration with Toscana Pastas, a key private-sector partner that has supported FIMRC Ecuador since 2017.

Through consistent monthly food donations, Toscana Pastas has played a vital role in strengthening our Child Nutrition Club, a community-based program that currently supports 120 families every month. These contributions directly improve children’s access to nutritious food, reinforce healthy eating habits at home, and support proper growth during critical stages of childhood development.

But this partnership goes far beyond food distribution. Each delivery represents dignity, care, and hope for families facing food insecurity. For many households, these nutritional resources make a meaningful difference in daily life, helping parents provide balanced meals while supporting children’s physical and emotional well-being.

At FIMRC Ecuador, nutrition is a cornerstone of our broader community health approach. Alongside the Child Nutrition Club, our programs include health education for children, the Girls Wonder Club and Superman Boys Club, and the Diabetes Club, where patients receive preventive screenings, education, and ongoing support. Partnerships like the one with Toscana Pastas allow these initiatives to grow stronger and reach more vulnerable populations.

This collaboration also highlights the importance of corporate social responsibility in global health. When private organizations and nonprofit institutions work together, the impact extends well beyond individual programs, helping build healthier, more resilient communities for the long term.

Join the Impact in Ecuador and Beyond

If you’re interested in volunteering abroad, Ecuador offers a unique opportunity to engage directly in community health, nutrition programs, and preventive care initiatives. Through FIMRC’s Global Health Volunteer Program (GHVP), volunteers can support activities with children, participate in clubs like the Child Nutrition and Diabetes Club, and work alongside local healthcare professionals making a real difference every day.

Whether you’re a student, healthcare professional, or someone passionate about global health, you can be part of partnerships like this, strengthening communities one family at a time. GHVP opportunities are also available in Peru, Costa Rica, and Uganda, offering diverse, hands-on experiences across multiple global health settings.
