A Story of Love, Resilience, and Hope: The Gutiérrez Alvarado Family and FIMRC Costa Rica
Oct 03, 2025At FIMRC Costa Rica, we are privileged to witness stories that remind us why global health and community support matter. One of the most touching journeys we’ve been part of is that of the Gutiérrez Alvarado family, a story rooted in resilience, unconditional love, and the power of healthcare to change lives.
Treizy Gutiérrez first visited our clinic as a teenager, where she received both medical and psychological care. Years later, in 2018, Treizy and her partner Mauren dreamed of starting a family. After undergoing fertility tests, they received heartbreaking news: Treizy would not be able to conceive.
But just days later, life surprised them. They were contacted about two young children whose biological mother, an immigrant woman, could no longer care for them. With open hearts, Treizy and Mauren welcomed the siblings into their home, fulfilling their wish to become mothers.
Months later, another call came, this time from the hospital. The same biological mother had given birth to a baby boy. Only six days after his birth, the baby was placed in their care. Once again, Treizy and Mauren opened their arms, ensuring that the three siblings would grow up together in a safe, loving home.
From that moment on, the children have been cared for at FIMRC’s clinic in Alajuelita, where they receive vital medical checkups, nutritional support, and psychological care. Our team has been by their side every step of the way, ensuring that their health and well-being are nurtured.
As Mauren and Treizy shared:
"We have been connected to this clinic since we were very young, and now our children also have a place to turn to. We are deeply grateful to FIMRC for everything they have done and continue to do for us."
Their story is a testament to how healthcare, compassion, and community can transform lives. For us at FIMRC, it is an honor to be part of this family’s journey.
