Enrollment for winter and spring volunteer travel is now open!
Are you interested in learning more about the medical field, hoping to gain volunteer experience, or simply seeking a way to give back while exploring the world? If so, look no further. Here are five great reasons you should start planning your FIMRC volunteer trip today!
1.FIMRC operates nine VOLUNTEEr sites.
FIMRC currently offers volunteer opportunities in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru (Huancayo & La Merced), the Dominican Republic, India, Uganda, and the Philippines. With diversity in locations and on-site programming, we will work with you to find the perfect fit for your volunteer experience.
2. FIMRC accepts volunteers year round.
There is a reason you won't find specific trip dates on our website. What sets FIMRC apart from other organizations is that our sites are open and operational year round. This means we're happy to host you anytime of year and for any length of time. We offer both short term opportunities of one to two weeks to longer term placements of a month or more. Our volunteers have the flexibility to choose their own travel dates!
3. FIMRC welcomes volunteers of all ages and educational backgrounds.
From families to solo travelers, high school students to medical professionals, we welcome volunteers from all walks of life. No major or career path is required - simply the desire to give back to a community in need!
4. FIMRC focuses on sustainable programming.
We keep our sites staffed, clinics opens, and health education programs running year round! This strategy allows us to provide continuous support and care to the communities we serve and also ensures that short term volunteers are contributing to long term sustainable programs. With year round presence, FIMRC is there when our patients need us most.
5. FIMRC is a family.
Upon returning home, all volunteers receive an invitation to join FIMRC's Alumni Program. With a network of over 4,000 travelers, you will have the opportunity to connect with dedicated FIMRC supporters and individuals passionate about global health. From starting a campus Chapter to becoming a FIMRC mentor, there are countless ways to stay involved long after your trip has ended.
Spaces for winter and spring travel fill quickly! Whether you are an individual interested in volunteering or a chapter leader coordinating for your school group, now is the time to get started. Contact FIMRC's Director of Volunteer Programs at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. We hope to hear from you soon!
