Our network of more than 60 FIMRC chapters worldwide gives a powerful voice to our mission to improve access to healthcare for children and families. With an average of 30 members per chapter, it adds up to nearly 2,000 advocates who share their passion for global health with a huge audience of peers and family members -- potentially reaching millions of people and inspiring them to learn more about FIMRC. Our FIMRC family is growing larger every day thanks to our chapters. Together, we’ve created a movement that is focused, driven, and determined to make the world a healthier place.
In the 2018-2019 academic year, FIMRC chapters accomplished some incredible goals. Together they fundraised nearly $20,000 to support site-specific projects and programs. In addition to fundraising, approximately 250 chapter members volunteered at FIMRC sites. These efforts have a direct, positive impact on the progress and success of our mission and on the communities we serve. It is inspiring to see chapters advocate for and support our programs. Their dedication knows no bounds. To celebrate their hard work, every year our Chaptership Awards highlight some of the biggest achievements from the past year and the impact our chapters have on campus and around the world.

These awards reflect the impact every FIMRC chapter has on our communities as advocates, volunteers, and supporters. By sharing FIMRC’s mission, our chapters help raise awareness about some of the biggest global health issues of our time -- from malnutrition to HIV to maternal and child health. Awareness is the first step to making a change, and not only do chapters do that, but they also then provide concrete steps to follow to make that change tangible.
As the new school year begins, we hope our current chapters can serve as an inspiration to others who are thinking about starting a chapter on their own campus. When you support FIMRC, you can rest assured that your efforts directly support communities in need and indirectly help push forward real change in the global health field. Whether you’ve participated in a FIMRC trip or not, you can become a part of the FIMRC family when you decide it’s time to speak up for those who are often not heard.
