Watch Kris Mendoza's video and read FOM Maureen's thoughts to learn about FIMRC's involvement in Phil PEN and working with BHWs to address non-communicable diseases.
Remember a few months back when we teased you with the "Where Will We Go Next?" video? Well, we're finally ready to spill the beans!
WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE PROJECT CAVITE!
Where is Cavite, you ask?
IT'S IN THE PHILIPPINES!!
Cavite is located nine miles from the capital of Manila, but its breathtaking views and comfortable climate make it seem a world away. The province of Cavite has long been a tourist spot for locals escaping the city life in Manila, but recent growth has impacted the health situation in the area. Non-communicable diseases are on the rise due to access to modern amenities, yet communicable diseases such as dengue and TB continue to be pervasive.
FIMRC will be working in partnership with the University of the Philippines and the Filipino Government's Barangy Health Workers to address communicable and noncommunicable disease, empower the community through special initiatives, and train medical staff and midwives.
