This week in Huancayo, Peru, FIMRC welcomed a wonderful crew talented people from FIGS! This outstanding group combines a range of folks that work for FIGS and some doctors and some nurses that are FIGS fans, who all came to our site to do wonderful things for FIMRC through the Threads for Threads Program at FIGS.
Through this program, FIGS has donated hundreds of thousands of scrubs to locations around the world. This time, FIMRC has been lucky enough to be chosen not only as a recipient of some of their wonderful scrubs but instead of only bringing scrubs, FIGS brought some incredible people along to volunteer in Huancayo, Peru.
Since they got to site on Sunday the group has been up to some great things including learning about FIMRC and seeing so many patients but have also been on a big campaign to drop off a whole bunch scrubs to help out many of the local students, nurses and doctors.
Not only will this impact the project for right now, by enabling us to see more patients, but will also make a huge difference for all of the health posts, hospitals, medical schools, and everyone that will get FIGS scrubs. Not only do these scrubs help to provide the appropriate apparel for these clinicians and nurses in Peru, but their anti-microbial fabric helps to reduce infection rates. In places where scrubs are often hard to come by, this can make such a huge difference both of practioners and for patients.
We here at FIMRC are thrilled to have all the folks at FIGS volunteering with us and making such a huge impact while on site and continuing to leave their impact as they leave so many scrubs behind (1,500 sets!!!!!!). Just as with each consult they provided, each pair of scrubs that is making a difference in the lives of so the many people in Peru.
