Welcome, October...and some thoughts as well.

Happy October (and weekend) everyone! You can be sure we have some GREAT posts coming your way this month, since the FIMRC family hosts an amazing array of staff, chapters, volunteers, and enthusiasts alike! Why wouldn't we, right?

While those posts come in, bit by bit, I just wanted to remind you of a couple of things and hopefully get your input as well...

-The holiday season is a GREAT time to volunteer, if that's something that you'd be interested in. Have you thought about traveling to one of our sites? If it's something you'd like to consider--please contact us at missions@fimrc.org. Spots are filling up fast. Think about it?

-If you don't have time to actually visit one of our sites, believe me when I say there are so many ways to help the sites from afar. One being to send supplies with volunteers that will be traveling. Contact us to see what our sites might be in need of. We can't tell you how much we appreciate your contributions.

-Even if you can't volunteer at one of our sites, we all know that there are a million ways to give back within our own communities. So MUCH of FIMRC's mission can be carried out locally in a BIG way. Spread the FIMRC love. It's so easy to do.

-Speaking of spreading the FIMRC love, those of us behind the scenes ALWAYS welcome your input on our programs and some of the things we have going. My inbox here at The FIMRC Blog could reaaallly use a little feedback. So let me know if you think there's something we should be featuring, a link that would be helpful to our social media efforts, a layout that you'd like better..really anything. It would help me out a lot!

I'll leave you with a wonderful and inspiring quote from revered theologian, philosopher, physician, and medical missionary, Albert Schweitzer:

"Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too."

Take care and more posts soon!
